Sibleys Orchard provides a warm, friendly and peaceful atmosphere delivered by our excellent team of caring, professional and dedicated staff and volunteers. We have an elite selection of staff and volunteers who strive to enable the residents to live the happiest and comfortable lives that they possibly can.
Located in the leafy village of Leverstock Green, just on the outskirts of Hemel Hempstead, Sibleys Orchard was originally built around 1910. Norman Shaw, a well known London Architect built Sibley’s Orchard for a well known clockmaker called Percy Webster. He had a clock-making workshop at Sibley's, and as a keen sportsman he also held sporting events and celebrations at the house. In 1972 Sibley’s was purchased from Percy’s daughter by Abbeyfield for the sum of £12,500, with the official opening in April 1972.
We have occupancy for ten residents with two larger flats on the first floor which have a separate bedroom, kitchen and bathroom, and these can be accessed via a chair lift if needed. We also have a ground floor flat with separate bedroom and a large en-suite bathroom, and seven ground floor studio rooms with en-suite shower. All our bathrooms have a wet room shower for ease of use too and having the facilities to prepare breakfast and light refreshments in your own room at a time that suits you, give you the flexibility to start the day at your pace and be able to provide refreshments for visiting family and friends.
Spend time getting to know other residents in our large, light and airy conservatory with heating and air conditioning overlooking the large beautifully maintained garden or while away the hours in the sunshine in our garden, which has ample seating, the perfect place for catching up with friends, reading a book or enjoying the peace and quiet.
More recently a raised flower bed with a central water fountain was installed in the garden to enable all our residents to ‘potter’ in the garden, with new furniture purchased so residents can enjoy the well-kept gardens in comfort and a large garden shed installed.
At Sibleys Orchard we have a large collection of book for our residents to enjoy and have regular coffee mornings which is a chance to get to know the other residents in the home. We also recently purchased a smart TV for improved viewing experience and offer free wi-fi to all residents.
We have a hairdresser who visits us once a week at our in-house hairdressing salon along with a chiropodist who regularly visits too.
Sibleys Orchard is in an ideal location on a flat level village which is fairly easy for residents to access all the amenities that the village has to offer independently. Leverstock Green Village is a historic and pretty village on the eastern edge of Hemel and it only a short walk away from beautiful open countryside. It has easy access to the M1 and M25 and offers a regular bus service covering Hemel-Hempstead, Watford, St. Albans, Rickmansworth, Stevenage and Welwyn Garden City. In Leverstock Green you'll also find a village hall which is used by many clubs and organisations who welcome new members.
Leverstock Green boasts an array of shops including a supermarket, chemist, butchers, Chinese takeaway, Post Office, newsagent, hairdressers and coffee shop where you can treat yourself to a delicious homemade slice of cake. The town centre is approximately 3 miles from the village. Sibley’s Orchard is across the road from the local church-Holy Trinity Church.
I have worked at Sibley’s Orchard for 8 years. On a daily basis I cook a nutritious tasty meal, communicate with residents and staff, ensure all paperwork is up to date, plan meetings and activities. Every day is different!
Annalee is passionate about maintaining a happy and professional place of work for both the staff and resident.

Resident, Sibleys Orchard
Sibley’s is a good home for me as I can walk to the shops easily, which I will do as long as I am able. My daughter lives close so she is able to visit me which she does often. Sibley’s is a clean and friendly place to live.
Resident
Since we moved my great aunt into Sibley’s I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone for helping her to settle especially in the difficult times we are in.
